“The Love and Appreciation we get from our Belgian fans is Beyond Compare.”
If you’d say that Editors are considered rock royalty over here in the Low Countries, it would in no shape or form be an overstatement. The English band came to be in 2002 and consists of Tom Smith (lead vocals, guitar, piano), Russell Leetch (bass guitar, synthesizer, backing vocals), Ed Lay (drums, percussion, backing vocals), Justin Lockey (lead guitar), and Elliott Williams (keys, synthesizers, guitars, and backing vocals). Over half a dozen albums and several internationally chart-topping records later, it’s safe to say they’re heading for the indie rock hall of fame.
In celebration of the release of their Greatest Hits album “Black Gold”, the Editors went on an international tour, with a stopover in Antwerp’s Sportpaleis. As the largest indoor venue in Europe, welcoming an audience of over 22,000 at maximum capacity, the band wanted a way to still have the fan connection you tend to get at smaller, more intimate gigs. That’s where CK Productions comes in.
For this concert in the Sportpaleis, we aligned ourselves with the band and their tour manager in order to create a video experience that brought the fans ‘on stage’ with them. We provided the technical infrastructure and creative team behind the project.
